Limerick County FRS

A selection of photographs of Limerick County FRS recent attending 2 RTCs. The First two photographs are of Cappamore attending a RTC near Boher on the Main Limerick to Waterford road involving an artic and a 4x4. The lower 3 photographs are of an RTC attended by Rathkeale involving 2 trucks. In both incidents there were only minor casualites

South Tipperary


Limerick City




Four people were injured, one seriously, in a RTC on the Condell Road in Limerick City.
The Condell Road was closed from the junction at the roundabout on Lower Shelbourne Road to Clonmacken for a time after the crash.
The accident happened at Clonmacken on the Condell Road on the north side of the city just before 10am, several units of Limerick City Fire Brigade attended the incident.

RTC South Tipperary


On the 01/07/2009 an Articulated lorry veered off the road and hit a wall about 5 miles outside Clonmel on the Cahir road.Two units from Clonmel fire service attended. Thankfully the driver was not seriously hurt.


Fatal RTC Tipp County



RTC Boher, Co. Limerick



This RTC occured near Boher Co. Limerick. It involved a Car and Horsebox. The driver of the car was injured in the accident plus 2 horses died in the horsebox. Driver of the horse box was not seriously injured. Munster Fire and Rescue would like to thank the person who forwarded these photos.

M8 Motorway incident




An incident took place on the M8 motorway on the evening of 14/06/2009 was attended by Fermoy (CK 25A1 & A2) and Mitchelstown (CK 26A1 & A2). Thankfully no one was seriously injured in the incident.

The N24 was blocked for over 7hours on Thursday last when this Articulated lorry left the road and hit a ditch and turned over into a field trapping the driver. As a result the driver died at the scene. Five units of the fire service from Waterford City and Kilkenny as well as Ambulances and Gardai attended the scene. The lorry was carring over 300 calfs and over 100 of them also died.


Dunmanway Co Cork


This was the scene of a one vehicle incident on the old Bantry Rd just outside Dunmanway town on the 02/05/2009. Attending the scene were Dunmanway fire service Gardai and the Ambulance from Bantry.
