Cork County Fire and Rescue Service

Cork County Fire & Rescue Service River Rescue Teams

The Fermoy Fire Brigade River Rescue Team, From Left to Right, Fire Fighter Brian Luby, Fire Fighter Eamon Keavney, Fire Fighter Seamus O'Mahoney, Station Sub Officer Eric Dahill and Fire Fighter Jonathan McGrath.

The new team is one of 5 new teams recently trained by Cork County Fire & Rescue Service to deal with incidents involving river rescues and flooding. The other new teams are based in Mallow, Ballincollig, Bandon and Skibbereen (all towns that have been badly effected by flooding in recent years.
Munster Fire & Rescue wish all the new teams the very best as they take up their extended roles.

Mechanics Mobile Workshops

Due to the nature of Cork County (its fairly large), Cork County Fire and Rescue service employ a number of mechanics to keep the mixed fleet " on the run" and fully operational. To ensure this a number of Ford Transits & a new Volkswagen Crafter vans are used by these mechanics as mobile workshops for this purpose.
